Alix R. Rubin

Of Counsel

Overview

Alix Rubin helps employers and employees resolve disputes efficiently, while minimizing disruption to their businesses and personal lives. A proactive lawyer, Alix is deeply knowledgeable about the most recent employment practices available to companies. She counsels clients on policies and contracts that help prevent lawsuits whenever possible. Should employee misconduct be suspected, she performs internal workplace investigations. And should litigation be necessary, Alix is experienced in representing both employers and employees, resolving disputes related to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblowing, employee classification, wage and hour, reductions in force, restrictive covenants, family and medical leave and other workplace accommodations. In addition to being a trusted employment counselor and litigator, Alix serves as a mediator, resolving disputes as a neutral party.

Collaborating with other attorneys at ELG, Alix is deeply involved in employment matters related to mergers & acquisitions. When companies are sold, Alix helps C-suite executives and entrepreneurs craft and negotiate their employment and separation agreements to assist in the smooth transition of their roles under new ownership.

Alix’s well-rounded counseling and litigation practice includes:

  • Pandemic protection methods in the workplace
  • Employment compliance
  • Employment contracts of all kinds
  • Employee handbooks and policies
  • Employment litigation including claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and other wrongdoing
  • Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and other reasonable accommodations
  • Investigations
  • Reductions in force
  • Restrictive covenants, including non-competes and other agreements

Prior to affiliating with the firm, Alix was a partner with a boutique litigation firm handling a range of disputes related to the employer-employee relationship.
