Ellis Law Group is seeking a partner-level attorney to join and help lead its rapidly-growing, highly-regarded emerging companies/VC practice. The firm has a robust general corporate/transactional practice covering a broad spectrum of industries, with an emphasis on the representation of disruptive emerging companies, founders and VC investors. Ideal candidates will have significant experience counseling and advising VC-backed and other emerging companies through the life cycle of their growth, including in the areas of structuring/formation and VC financing.
While the successful candidate will have at least a modest book of portable business, above all, we are seeking entrepreneurial, ambitious individuals with outstanding credentials who have excellent legal skills and a proven ability to develop and manage client relationships. This is an excellent opportunity to do sophisticated work in an exciting, transformative practice area as part of a boutique firm boasting a talented, congenial team of attorneys. Our firm is rooted in its corporate practice, but has meaningful capabilities in the areas of intellectual property, employment, tax and litigation in order to offer a full service solution to our clients’ needs.
This is an ideal alternative for a large firm lawyer who wants to move to a smaller firm to build a book of business or who is retiring from his or her current firm but intends to continue in practice, or for a solo practitioner who needs to be in a firm in order to continue growing his or her practice. The firm has an attractive partner compensation model. Although the firm has offices in Midtown Manhattan, this position can be fully remote (US-based), and candidates do not need to reside or be admitted in New York.
